After receiving Jesus Christ’s free gift of eternal life at the age of twelve, I spent several years in and out of church. During High School and College I began to seek to really grow in my faith. During this time I was challenged by men and women of faith to not just be a church member, but be a follower of Jesus Christ. I began to grow spiritually. After graduating from College and beginning to work, I began to sense God leading me to full time Christian service. I struggled with this call for about a year. After praying diligently, I felt led to attend Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. During this time I began working as a Youth Minister and then as an Associate Pastor. After seminary I was blessed to be married and have two daughters while working in various ministry positions. In 1999, the Lord called my family and I to Oak Grove Baptist Church. We are grateful to serve here and pray for God’s leadership every day.

Rev. Scott Crump, Youth Pastor

Education: Business Marketing: Mars Hill College; University of North Carolina at Charlotte

I was born and raised in Charlotte, NC. My Godly parents encouraged me, my brother, and sisters to go to church every time we could. During my childhood, I was very active in sports and much of my time was spent on the ball field or watching the Redskins, Gilligan's Island, or the Tar Heels on TV. However, I felt there was something that I was missing in life. It was during my teenage years that I realized God had a plan for me and it started with my relationship with Jesus. The Lord has given me a passion for ministering to young people and seeing them receive Jesus as their personal Savior. God has blessed me with a wonderful wife, Dana, and three children, Zach, Ethan, and Caroline who share in my ministry.

Jennifer Gaddy, Children's Director

I have been the Children's Director at Oak Grove Baptist since 2011. I am happily married to Travis Gaddy, who also assists me with my responsibilities. We have two young daughters. In my spare time I like to travel, and spend time with my family and friends.

As Children's Director, I strive to provide an environment in which children are not only safe, but also taught and encouraged to develop a relationship with Jesus Christ.

The Goal of this ministry is to lead children to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and accept Him as their Savior.

Brenda Hilton, Organist

I have been a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church since 1954, two years before the church purchased their first organ. I have played both the organ and piano, off-and-on, since the mid-1950's. Part of the time I served as a regular instrumentalist, and sometimes filled in as a substitute. In addition to the regular services, I have also played for weddings and many funerals.

I believe music heard in the church can be a message in itself. I truly enjoy this sacred music so much. In addition to being the organist & pianist, I also sing in the wonderful Oak Grove Choir!
